At least six dead after tornadoes sweep across Michigan and Oklahoma
Tornadoes struck Michigan and Oklahoma on Friday, killing at least six people and injuring more than a dozen others. In Michigan, three people died and 12 were injured near Union City in Branch County, with one additional death reported in Cass County. Damage included destroyed homes, downed power lines, and widespread outages. In Oklahoma, two deaths occurred in Beggs in Okmulgee County, where a tornado cut a 4-mile path of damage. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt both declared states of emergency. The National Weather Service warned severe weather could continue into the weekend with thunderstorms and flash flooding expected from the Great Plains to Texas.

Heavy overnight rains caused severe flooding in Nairobi, Kenya, killing at least 23 people and injuring others through drowning and electrocution.
