Gas price soars 25% after strikes on Qatar hub
Gas prices in Europe and the UK rose sharply, with wholesale prices up nearly 25%, after strikes damaged a major liquefied natural gas export facility in Qatar. The attack on the Ras Laffan facility, which supplies a fifth of global LNG, has raised concerns about long-lasting supply disruptions. Jihadist violence in Nigeria and DRC rose sharply last year even as global deaths from terror fell
