Turkish authorities have detained 162 individuals for posting content online that praised recent school shootings, with arrests made under accusations of affecting public order and praising crime. The detentions follow two separate attacks this week: one on Tuesday that injured 16 people at a high school in southeastern Turkey, and another on Wednesday that killed nine at a school in Kahramanmaras. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek stated that 95 of those arrested were accused of sharing attack footage despite a broadcast ban, spreading fear, praising crime, and circulating misinformation, while restrictions were imposed on 1,104 social media accounts.
