Big Bear Eagles: Meet 'Kaydee,' the new female eagle spending time with Jackie's mate Shadow
While multiple spellings of the new eagle's name have been shared online, including "Katie," in an update Wednesday, Friends of Big Bear Valley shared that the eagle will be called "Kaydee." Kaydee is KD1, a banded female bald eagle previously spotted around Big Bear Valley. 15, Shadow and Kaydee spent hours together in the nest, according to the Friends of Big Bear Valley Facebook page. A young female eagle known as KD1, or "Kaydee" to some fans, has recently been seen alongside Shadow, the male bald eagle who spent years raising a family with his longtime mate, Jackie.
