Transport unions call off bus strike after Karnataka HC directive
Transport unions in Karnataka have called off a planned statewide bus strike set for May 20 after the Karnataka High Court intervened, directing the unions to resolve their demands through discussions with the government instead of disrupting public bus services. Union leaders expressed dissatisfaction with the government's unilateral decisions regarding wage revisions and emphasized the need for negotiations, particularly regarding their demand for a wage increase above 15 percent and retroactive implementation from January 1, 2024.
