15-minute halt at Davanagere turns into six-hour delay for Vande Bharat
A scheduled 15-minute halt for the Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express at Mayakonda railway station in Davanagere extended to nearly six hours due to delays from ongoing infrastructure work on the Davanagere–Tumakuru railway line. The train, which was supposed to arrive in Davanagere at 5:50 PM, reached instead at 11:35 PM, causing significant delays for at least four other trains as well. South Western Railway officials attributed the disruption to a 'shadow block' during which multiple works were conducted simultaneously, although they stated that subsequent works would be planned more carefully.
